Ingredients
- 6 All beef jumbo sized hot dogs
- 6 Hot dog buns
- 1 tbsp - Canola oil
- 1 cup - Shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 ½ cup - Onions, chopped
- 3 Garlic cloves, minced
- 1 ½ lb - Ground beef
- 1 tbsp - Chili powder
- 1 tsp - Dried oregano
- 1 tsp - Cinnamon
- 1 tsp - Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp - Ground cumin
- ½ tsp - Ground allspice
- 1 tsp - Salt
- 1 tsp - Black pepper
- ½ cup - Tomato sauce
- 3 tbsp - Ketchup
- 1 tbsp - Red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp - Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
- Preheat your grill at high temperature;
- In preheated cast iron skillet or pan, saute the onions and garlic in the canola oil until golden brown, then add the ground beef and cook for 2 to 3 minutes;
- Add all the remaining ingredients (except the hot dogs, buns and cheese) and give a good mix; Cook in indirect for 20 minutes with the lid closed;
- Place the hot dogs on the hot side of the grate and cook for about 2 to 4 minutes per side; grill the buns if you want;
- Place each dog inside a bun and top with chili and cheese.
