Ingredients
Beef Ribs
- 4 to 6 Beef Ribs
- 2 tbsp - El Yucateco Black Label Reserve Hot Sauce
- 1 tbsp - Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp - Ground black Pepper
BBQ Sauce
- 10 oz - Ketchup
- ½ cup - Brown sugar
- 1 tbsp - El Yucateco Black Label Reserve Hot Sauce
- 1 tsp - Onion powder
- 4 tsp - Molasses
- 2 ½ tbsp - Coffee
- 1 tsp - Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper to taste
Mop sauce
- ½ cup - Apple juice
- ½ cup - Cider vinegar
Additional Equipment
Wood chunks for smoking, preferably hickory
Spray Bottle
Preparation
- Preheat your smoker at 225°F;
- Brush the beef ribs on both sides with the El Yucateco Black Label Reserve Hot Sauce then season with garlic powder and black pepper;
- Place the ribs in the smoker and cook for about 8 hours; Combine the apple juice and cider vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the beef ribs every hour;
- Combine all BBQ Sauce ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes;
- After 8 hours of cooking, wrap the beef ribs in aluminum foil and continue to cook them until the internal temperature reads 200°F on an instant read thermometer;
- Remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes;
- Brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and serve.
