Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb - Ground beef
- 1 tbsp - Canola oil
- ½ Onion, diced
- ½ cup - Red bell pepper, diced
- 2 tbsp - Brown sugar
- 1 tsp - Garlic powder
- 2 tbsp - El Yucateco Red Habanero Sauce
- 1 tsp - Yellow mustard
- 1 cup - Ketchup
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 4 to 6 Burger buns
Preparation
- Preheat your grill for indirect;
- Make 4 beef patties and place them on the grill for indirect; Toss a handful of wood chips (preferably mesquite) onto hot coals for smoking and close the lid; cook for about 30 minutes at 300°F;
- In a preheated cast iron skillet, sauté the onions and red bell peppers, then add the cooked beef patties and crush them to make small chunks; Add the ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and El Yucateco Red Habanero Sauce and mix well;
- Assembly the sloppy joes with grilled burger buns and serve.
