We are reeling over still! We scored this parcel of the Carlisle Montafi from vines planted in 1926! Rarely does Zinfandel captivate the senses quite like this wine did when it rolled through our offices. We bought as much as we could get!
Mike Officer has been absolutely crushing it over the past five years making some of the most exciting wines in California. Carlisle has proved it can hang with the best of them, and in our opinion, is on the same level as Turley, Bedrock, Scherrer and Ridge. We are beyond thrilled to have access to this. The 2018 Montafi is a barnburner, packed with brambly blackberries, black plums, red cherry, toasted sage, tobacco and spices. A fresh 95 point review from Jeb Dunnuck and a 92-95 point review from Vinous, with more big scores to come, this is going to fly out of here. Grab some while we have it! First come...first served!
